Our Curriculum Overviews

We continually strive to provide high quality teaching and learning experiences through a broad, balanced, engaging and challenging curriculum, encompassing all core and foundation subjects, which is accessible to all and enables all children to fulfil their potential.

Our curriculum aims to be knowledge rich and supports children to develop skills progressively. It is taught through discrete subjects, and where appropriate will link to the overall theme and we have not forced tenuous connections.

Many of our children enjoy rich experiences outside of school which builds their cultural capital and enables them to acquire a large and rich vocabulary. We are aware that a small minority of our pupils are not so fortunate. It is therefore imperative that as a school we seek to enrich the experience for all.

 

At East Claydon, we want every child to love learning. Guided by our Christian vision, 'Building Each Other Up', we create an environment where children feel valued, encouraged and inspired to flourish.
Through our core values of Kindness, Collaboration, Courage and Joy, we nurture confident learners who care for one another, work together, embrace new challenges and celebrate success. We believe that when children feel safe, supported and inspired, they develop the knowledge, skills and character needed to thrive both in school and beyond.
